The Dark Knight Rises - A Review

The story begins 8 years after the death of Harvey Dent, where the citizens of Gotham city blame Batman for his murder. Bruce Wayne has retired, both as Batman and from the Wayne Enterprises. But a turmoil is churning up in the city, will Batman return to battle a formidable foe and most importantly, will he win?

For all the diehard Batfans its a real treat, for all those of you who aren't a fan, its still a real treat. Christopher Nolan strikes again, with the last installment of the Batman series. Christian Bale is at his best, Anna Hathaway has done a good job too but the crown goes to Hans Zimmer for the amazing background score that added life to each scene. The special effects were also good in parts. The story line was average, and it would have been a perfect movie if a few parts were not stretched too long and if some crisp editing had been done. Bane is also great to watch, Tom Hardy has done a great job. This is one villain you will truly enjoy watching.

The story line also has a few twist and turns that at times will bring you to the edge of your seat, but don’t expect too many of them. There are some lose ends here and there in the story, and Morgan Freeman has been totally wasted. I would have loved to see more of him. There are certain emotionally charged scenes that look too plastic at times. But otherwise, it’s a total entertainer.

Go watch it for the special effects and Bane!
